“It’s perhaps time for the regular Ipswich Town starter to be dropped”: Town’s boss Kieran McKenna shares injury updates…

It might be time for Kieran McKenna, the manager of Ipswich Town, to consider dropping Wes Burns from the starting lineup. Ipswich Town have been performing well in the Championship, but a recent dip in form, including a surprising loss to Maidstone United in the FA Cup, has seen them fall behind Southampton and Leeds United in the race for promotion to the Premier League. As the competition heats up, McKenna may need to make some changes to get the team back on track.

Wes Burns has been a valuable player for Ipswich Town since joining in 2021, helping them secure promotion from League One with eight goals and 11 assists. However, his impact in the championship has been limited, with just three goals and one assist in 23 starts. His last significant contribution was a goal against Norwich City in December, and since then, he has struggled to make an impact.

McKenna has other options on the wing, including January loan signing Jeremy Sarmiento, who scored a crucial goal against Leicester City in just 29 minutes on the pitch. Omari Hutchinson is another option, with three goals and two assists in seven starts this season.

With Ipswich Town losing momentum in the promotion race, McKenna may need to shake up the starting lineup to get back on track. Removing Burns, who has struggled to score goals, in favor of Sarmiento or Hutchinson could be the right move.
