Florida’s staff is what stands out the most to a four-star OL target in the 2026 class.
Vero Beach (Fla.) 2026 four-star offensive tackle Micah “Champ” Smith attended the Florida Gators first junior day of the month back on January 13th. He hadn’t been to Florida since last spring, so it was a good chance for him to come back and see some of the changes that had taken place on campus since his last time in Gainesville.
“Just seeing things from first being built to now all built, it was really nice,” he said of the visit. “I like the facilities they have there. I don’t think I have ever met a funnier coaching staff than Florida’s. Those dudes are some of the funniest guys. I spent a lot of time with the offensive line coaches, Coach [Rob] Sale and Coach [Darnell] Stapleton.”
The time around offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton were two standouts of the trip to the Top 100 big man. Though they haven’t been around each other for a little under a year, they made him feel very comfortable.
