Aspirations Shattered: Michigan Loses 2025 Four-Star Commitment, Chris Ewald Jr…
Chris Ewald Jr., a highly regarded four-star cornerback from Hollywood (FL) Chaminade-Madonna, officially withdrew his commitment from Michigan on Sunday evening, as announced on his social media profiles. Ewald had initially pledged to Michigan in December 2022, choosing the Wolverines over various other potential programs.
Despite Michigan’s recent National Championship victory, Ewald Jr. revealed to 247Sports last week that he was in the process of arranging visits to three other programs. Reflecting on his decommitment, he stated, “Michigan was all in on me early. They allowed me to be the face of the class by taking my commitment last year, and I respect them for that.”
Even with the setback, Michigan currently holds three verbal commitments for the 2025 cycle: quarterback Carter Smith, defensive lineman Bobby Kanka, and tight end Eli Owens.
