“Attacking reinforcement”: Swindon Town officially confirms the permanent deal of two new signings…

Swindon Town has strengthened its squad with the recent acquisitions of goalkeeper Jack Bycroft and former Liverpool striker Paul Glatzel. These signings mark the second and third additions for the club in the current transfer window, following midfielder Dawson Devoy’s loan move from MK Dons.

Jack Bycroft’s arrival is a permanent transfer from Southampton, aiming to fill the void left by the departure of Murphy Mahoney, who returned to parent club Queens Park Rangers due to a long-term injury. Bycroft, a 22-year-old and devoted Swindon fan, began his career at Southampton but gained valuable experience through loan spells at Oxford City, Aldershot Town, and Taunton Town. His noteworthy achievements include 19 clean sheets and recognition in the National League South Team of the Season during his time with Taunton Town. Expressing his enthusiasm for joining Swindon, Bycroft emphasized the significance of the club to him and his family.

Both new signings boast international experience, with Bycroft representing England at the U19 level, while Glatzel played for both the Young Lions and Germany’s Under-18 squad. Paul Glatzel, a 22-year-old striker, emerged from Liverpool’s academy and led the team to an FA Youth Cup triumph in 2018–19. Despite not making a senior appearance for Liverpool, he brings League Two experience from two loan spells at Tranmere Rovers, where he scored four goals in 17 appearances.

Glatzel’s move to Swindon Town is permanent and marks Michael Flynn’s first attacking reinforcement since the departures of Dan Kemp and Jake Young, whose loans from MK Dons and Bradford City concluded. The additions of Bycroft and Glatzel aim to strengthen Swindon Town’s squad and provide valuable contributions in their respective positions.
