However, Mousinho acknowledged that the ankle injury sustained by Connor Ogilvie during the Cambridge United match is not as severe as initially feared.
Ogilvie, a left-back, is currently in a cast and using crutches after injuring his ligaments just 10 seconds into his return to the Portsmouth squad. The extent of his injury will become clearer after a scan on Friday. In the interim, Ogilvie is expected to be sidelined for up to eight weeks, a situation similar to the injuries that have affected Kusini Yengi and Marlon Pack this season.
Mousinho shared, “Connor is okay; we are probably looking at a very similar injury to Kusini and Marlon, so around 6-8 weeks. It’s ligaments in and around the ankle and was probably slightly more of a concern on the night, but a good result for us would be around the six-week mark.”

The injury was the result of a slip, despite the manager’s positive assessment of the pitch quality. Mousinho attributed the series of injuries to sheer bad luck. He pointed out that these injuries, including Marlon’s red card and other incidents, were not due to any controllable factors in training or pitch conditions.
Jack Sparkes replaced Ogilvie after just eight minutes in the match against Cambridge United, and he will continue to play in the left-back position for the upcoming game against Reading, who are currently second from the bottom of League One.
Mousinho expressed his concern over Ogilvie’s injury, particularly considering his excellent injury record over the past few years. The injury occurred within the first 8-10 seconds of the match, and Ogilvie tried to play on despite the issue, as he wanted to support the team. However, the injury turned out to be relatively serious, and he couldn’t continue.
