Hull City boss Rosenior expressed huge disappointment as he shares ‘worrying’ updates on 24-year-old star…

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has disclosed that left-back Ruben Vinagre will be sidelined for approximately five weeks due to a recurrent hamstring injury. The 24-year-old, who was loaned from Sporting Lisbon during the last transfer window, had shown promising signs in a recent match against Middlesbrough before succumbing to the setback. Rosenior expressed disappointment over Vinagre’s injury, emphasizing the need to adapt to the situation and move forward.

Vinagre’s stint at Hull City has been marred by persistent injury issues, and his latest setback means he won’t be available for action until the end of January. Despite making a positive impact off the bench against Middlesbrough, contributing to a 2-1 victory, Vinagre’s unavailability poses a challenge for the team during the festive period.

Hull City has alternative options for the left-back position, including Lewie Coyle, Jacob Greaves, and James Furlong. The team, currently occupying the sixth position in the league table, faces Bristol City tomorrow night, hoping to maintain their three-point lead over seventh-placed Sunderland.

Vinagre’s acquisition by Hull City during the summer aimed to fill the void left by Callum Elder. The Portuguese player has featured in 11 matches across all competitions this season, with 10 appearances in the league. His football journey includes spells with Wolves from 2017 to 2022, where he played 69 games and contributed three goals, aiding the team’s promotion to the Premier League.

Hull City | Vinagre out for extended period

Before joining English football, Vinagre had stints at Sporting Lisbon and AS Monaco. He spent the 2022 season with Sporting Lisbon after returning from loan spells at Olympiacos, Famalicao, and Everton. Despite the setbacks, Hull City remains competitive in the league, and their upcoming fixture against Bristol City will be crucial in maintaining their position in the top six.
