After a 2½-week hiatus from home games at Neville Arena, Auburn made a triumphant return, delighting a crowd of 9,121 with a commanding 91-75 victory over the USC Trojans. The Tigers showcased their offensive prowess, with five players contributing double-digit scores in a well-rounded performance.
Auburn’s last home game had taken place on November 29 against Virginia Tech, and following three consecutive road or neutral-site matchups, the Tigers were back on familiar ground. The offensive display marked the seventh occasion this season that Auburn had surpassed the 80-point mark, achieving this feat in three consecutive games.
Aden Holloway, Jaylin Williams, Denver Jones, Johni Broome, and Dylan Cardwell were the standout performers, each reaching 10 or more points. Williams, Holloway, and Cardwell embarked on individual scoring runs, crucial in establishing and extending Auburn’s lead—a lead they maintained for the final 36 minutes of the game.

Williams, contributing 14 points, made a significant impact early on by sinking a 3-pointer when the Tigers held a narrow 10-9 lead. This marked a turning point, as Williams followed up with a layup, while Cardwell contributed with a pair of dunks, propelling Auburn to a seven-point advantage.
Throughout the first half, Auburn continued to widen the gap, finishing with two critical 3-pointers in the final 70 seconds courtesy of Jones and Holloway. Jones, in particular, played a pivotal role, scoring 12 points, including crucial baskets from the free-throw line.
As USC attempted to close the gap early in the second half, Jones once again proved influential with another timely 3-pointer. Holloway, a 5-star point guard, showcased his skills with 15 points and six assists, leading the team in both categories.

Cardwell’s standout performance in the second half included two dunks and free throws, contributing to Auburn’s peak lead of 23 points. The Georgia native finished the game with a career-high 11 points, showcasing versatility with five rebounds, three steals, and two blocks. Coach Bruce Pearl praised Cardwell’s all-around game, emphasizing his defensive prowess, rebounding ability, and improved free-throw shooting.
Despite USC guard Boogie Ellis’ impressive 22-point contribution and 5-star guard Isaiah Collier’s efficient 13-point outing, Auburn’s explosive offense prevailed. Shooting 48% on field goals, 38% on 3-pointers, and 78% on free throws, the Tigers outlasted the impressive USC duo and newcomer Bronny James, who played in just his second collegiate game against Auburn.
