Flyers place defenseman on waivers…
The Philadelphia Flyers have placed defenseman Louie Belpedio on waivers, as announced by the team on Monday. Belpedio, a 27-year-old right-shot defender hailing from the Chicago area, has predominantly played in the minor leagues since concluding his collegiate career at Miami University in 2018. Prior to the current season, he had only accumulated four NHL games, all with the Minnesota Wild, who drafted him 80th overall in 2014.
In the ongoing 2023-24 season, Belpedio significantly increased his NHL game count, participating in 12 games for the Flyers. Despite joining the team in the summer of 2022 with a lucrative two-way deal, he spent the entirety of the previous season in the minors.

After contributing one assist in five games with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley, Belpedio earned a call-up to the NHL on October 26.
