The Minnesota Twins have bolstered their bullpen with a major addition, officially announcing the signing of veteran All-Star reliever. The deal, confirmed by the team Tuesday morning, brings a proven high-leverage arm to a Twins team with playoff aspirations.
Stanek, 32, joins the Twins on a one-year deal worth $4 million, with performance incentives that could increase the total value. Known for his electric fastball and fiery mound presence, the hard-throwing right-hander brings a wealth of postseason experience and stability to the back end of Minnesota’s bullpen.

Stanek spent the past three seasons with the Houston Astros, where he was a key contributor to their bullpen success. In 2022, he posted a dazzling 1.15 ERA over 59 appearances and helped Houston capture the World Series title. Last season, he delivered another strong campaign with a 3.60 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 50 innings.
His arrival gives the Twins another versatile bullpen weapon who can handle everything from setup duties to closing games if needed. With Jhoan Durán, Griffin Jax, and Brock Stewart already anchoring the late innings, Stanek’s addition provides depth and flexibility — especially valuable during the grind of a long season.
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli also praised the move, noting Stanek’s leadership and playoff pedigree: “We’ve seen what Ryne can do on the biggest stage. He’s going to bring toughness, experience, and energy to our bullpen room.”
With the AL Central wide open and expectations rising in Minneapolis, this signing is a clear signal that the Twins are going all in.
