Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson has reaffirmed his dedication to the team amidst recent speculations regarding his future. In October 2024, the Phillies extended Thomson’s contract through the 2026 season, underscoring their confidence in his leadership.
Thomson, who took over as manager in June 2022, has led the Phillies to three consecutive postseason appearances, including an NL pennant in 2022. He expressed his commitment, stating, “This is the only place I want to be. And this will be my last stop.”
Despite rumors surrounding potential trades, particularly involving All-Star third baseman Alec Bohm, Thomson clarified that the team is not actively shopping him. He emphasized that while other teams have shown interest, the Phillies value Bohm’s contributions and development.
The Phillies’ front office has also shown support for Thomson, with President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski announcing that the entire coaching staff will return for the 2025 season.
