The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a massive splash in free agency, securing one of the league’s premier talents in a deal that is sending shockwaves through the NFL. Pittsburgh has officially signed 3-time All-Star cornerback to a three-year, $65 million contract, bolstering their secondary in a major way.
The Steelers, already known for their defensive dominance, just made their secondary even stronger with the addition of Howard, a former Pro Bowl shutdown corner who has been one of the league’s most feared defenders.
Howard, 31, was one of the top free agents on the market after his release from the Miami Dolphins, where he spent the last eight seasons. Over the past several years, he has consistently ranked among the NFL’s best in pass breakups and interceptions, making him a perfect fit for Pittsburgh’s aggressive defensive scheme.
With T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick already leading a fearsome defense, the addition of Howard gives the Steelers another veteran playmaker who can lock down opposing receivers. His ball-hawking ability and experience will be invaluable in a division stacked with elite quarterbacks like Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson.

While the signing of Howard is a major win, the Steelers may not be done making moves. Pittsburgh is still in the market for offensive line help and potentially another veteran wide receiver to support their young quarterback.
