“It’s Pathetic”: Interim Coach Anders Sorensen Shares Troubling Updates After Blackhawks Loss…

In his first game as the Blackhawks’ interim head coach, Anders Sorensen faced familiar challenges as the team fell 4-2 to the Winnipeg Jets, marking their fifth consecutive loss. Chicago recorded a season-low 14 shots on goal, including just six in the final two periods, struggling to generate offense under pressure.

Sorensen, promoted from the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs after Luke Richardson’s dismissal, had limited preparation with the team. He cited puck recovery issues and defensive lapses as key concerns.

Adding to their woes, goaltender Petr Mrazek exited early with a groin injury. “He’ll be out a little bit,” Sorensen noted without specifying a timeline.

Despite the challenges, captain Nick Foligno emphasized the need for patience. “We’ve had one practice. It’s not going to turn around in one day,” he said, highlighting the team’s efforts to adapt to Sorensen’s vision of a more aggressive playstyle.

Now 4-9-2 on the road, the Blackhawks prepare for a three-game trip starting Monday against the New York Rangers.
