Bristol Rovers are interested in signing 29-year-old striker in January and QPR should also be interested.
Queens Park Rangers made it two draws out of two on Saturday as they played out a 0-0 stalemate with Bristol City.
That means it is now two points out of six for Marti Cifuentes in his first two games in charge of the West London side.
Cifuentes was appointed the club’s new manager at the end of October, and he has halted the club’s losing streak so far.
e now has an international break to work closely with his new side and learn more about his squad as they prepare for an extremely busy period.
Obviously, all eyes will be on the upcoming games as QPR tries to get out of the relegation zone, but focus will also be on the January transfer window, which is now over a month and a half away from opening.
Cifuentes is likely going to want to add to his squad as he tries to turn the results around, and one player they should look to target is Peterborough United forward Jonson Clarke-Harris.
What is Jonson Clarke-Harris’ current situation at Peterborough United?
Clarke-Harris looks set to leave Peterborough United in January as he nears the end of his contract at the club.
The forward was placed on the transfer list during the summer transfer window, as the 29-year-old entered the final 12 months of his contract, and Peterborough always looks to move players on in their final year of their contract.
Being on the transfer list meant Clarke-Harris was linked with a few clubs from England, especially in League One. Derby County and Bristol Rovers were the first two sides credited with an interest and then they were joined by Bolton Wanderers.
In fact, Bristol Rovers looked set to sign the player in the summer, after agreeing a £800,000 deal with Peterborough United. However, the deal fell through as the club had submitted the deal sheet too late.
Clarke-Harris stayed at Peterborough beyond the deadline and has been playing an important part in the club’s season, but a move away in January still looks on the cards, as it’s been reported that Rovers will look to sign the player in the next transfer window.
So, with him looking set to move in January, it may be wise for a team like QPR to look at the 29-year-old as someone to possibly sign.
