Stoke City extended their unbeaten run to five matches following a goalless draw away to Coventry City.
In a competitive Championship encounter, neither side could break the deadlock at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
As well as picking up a point on their travels, Alex Neil’s kept a fourth successive clean sheet as they head into the November international break.
Following a quiet opening to proceedings, the Potters fashioned the first chance of note in the 20th minute when Dwight Gayle laid the ball off the Daniel Johnson inside the box and the attacker forced Brad Collins into a smart save low down to his right.
The home side’s maiden opportunity fell the way of Ellis Simms midway through the half as the summer signing headed an effort against the outside of the post from close range.
Jack Bonham was called into action minutes later when he managed to push away a stinging drive from Matty Godden, which had taken a deflection off Michael Rose.
Before the half was out, André Vidigal drove into the Sky Blues half and unleashed an effort over from 25 yards.
The second period started at a fast pace and both sides had chances to make the breakthrough within 15 minutes of the restart.
After Haji Wright had nodded over at the far post when well placed, Gayle called Collins into action from an acute angle before Vidigal acrobatically fired over after meeting Enda Stevens’ deep cross.
The visitors survived a scare midway through the second 45 when the Sky Blues won possession on the edge of the area and fed Simms, who lashed wide.
As the match headed towards its conclusion, the Potters remained resolute to pick up a point and extend their unbeaten run to five.
