Breaking: FSU Football Secures Commitment from Sec’s Elite Five-Star Offensive Guard Over Jacksonville, Boston and Clemson…

Florida State has secured a major win on the recruiting trail, locking down a commitment from five-star offensive guard Solomon Thomas, one of the most sought-after prospects in the 2025 class. The Jacksonville (Fla.) Raines standout chose the Seminoles over offers from top programs like Boston College, Clemson, and Jacksonville, making this a crucial addition for FSU’s future.

Amid recent decommitments, Thomas represents a must-keep player for the Seminoles, and other teams have been making efforts to flip him. However, the good news for FSU fans is that Thomas made a return trip to Tallahassee over the weekend to attend the team’s ACC matchup against Cal, giving him a chance to witness the ‘Noles first win of the 2024 season.

This visit was also the first time Thomas saw offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Alex Atkins back on the sidelines, following a three-game suspension. Atkins has been a key figure in Thomas’ recruitment, and his return provided reassurance that Thomas was hoping to see.

“It was a good game. I was kind of nervous. Of course, I wanted them to win, but in the back of my head, I was thinking, don’t do too good because then it’s like, [Coach Alex] Atkins is the difference,” Thomas said after the game. “I feel like they would have won regardless. It was definitely a team effort. I liked how they stayed together and didn’t start pointing fingers when they were down.”

Thomas added that FSU’s resilience, especially after coming off a 13-0 season and starting the year 0-3, left a strong impression on him. “Handling adversity like that is tough, but they did it the right way.”

Can the Seminoles Hold On to Their Top Commitment?

While FSU has landed Thomas, the challenge now is holding onto their top-ranked commitment. As one of the most coveted offensive linemen in the country, Thomas will continue to be a target for other programs. His relationship with Coach Atkins and the culture of resilience at FSU will play a crucial role in keeping him in the fold as the 2025 recruiting cycle progresses.
