Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney has bolstered the team’s goaltending options by signing 29-year-old veteran Kevin Lankinen to a half-year contract. The deal provides the Bruins with experienced backup depth at a critical point in the season.

Lankinen, who most recently played with the Nashville Predators, brings with him a wealth of NHL experience. Over the course of his career, he has built a solid reputation as a dependable backup, making him a valuable addition to Boston’s roster.
Lankinen’s NHL journey began in 2020 with the Chicago Blackhawks, where he impressed in his first two seasons. After two years with the Blackhawks, he signed with the Nashville Predators in 2022, serving as a backup to Juuse Saros. Last season, Lankinen posted an 11-6-8 record with a 2.82 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage across 24 games. His consistent play has made him a trusted presence in net throughout his four seasons in the league.
Across his NHL career, Lankinen has played in 112 games, recording a 45-43-12 record, a 3.07 GAA, and a .905 save percentage. His experience and steady performance are expected to be key assets for the Bruins as they continue their push for a deep playoff run.
