The Denver Broncos received some positive news from their Friday injury report as they prepare for their upcoming game. After some initial concerns earlier in the week, the team appears to be in relatively good shape, despite a few key absences.
Since the start of the 2023 season, the Broncos have enjoyed strong roster health, and the latest injury report continues that trend. While there were worries about several players being either limited or absent from practice, Denver’s player recovery strategies seem to be paying off.
The Wednesday injury report had sparked concern, but by Friday, all but two players were cleared to play. Right tackle Mike McGlinchey remains out and will be sidelined for at least a month due to his placement on injured reserve, which explains his absence from the report. Aside from him, only Baron Browning and JL Skinner will miss Sunday’s game.
Several other key players — including John Franklin-Myers, Brandon Jones, Zach Allen, Greg Dulcich, Josh Reynolds, Adam Trautman, and Devaughn Vele — had been either limited or didn’t practice earlier in the week, but all are expected to suit up. This is a huge relief for the Broncos, especially given the early-season challenges they’ve faced.
One area of concern remains McGlinchey’s absence, as backup tackle Alex Palczewski, an undrafted second-year player from Illinois, will take over starting duties. Palczewski has shown promise, but Denver will need him to step up quickly, as they aim to avoid a dreaded 0-3 start.

After starting the 2023 season 1-5, the Broncos managed to rally and finish with eight wins, going 7-4 over their last 11 games. Historically, Sean Payton-coached teams have been known for slow starts followed by strong finishes, which is why getting to 1-2 this weekend feels pivotal for Denver. A win would set the stage for a potential momentum shift, especially heading into Week 4 against the New York Jets.
While the Broncos may not have been expected to make the playoffs this year, there were higher hopes for their offense, which has struggled in the first two weeks. On the other hand, the defense has been performing at an elite level and continues to improve.
