The Chicago Blackhawks have officially unveiled their roster for the 2024 training camp, which includes 32 forwards, 15 defensemen, and six goaltenders. The 53-player lineup is a blend of returning talent, experienced veterans, and promising prospects.
Despite a few lingering injuries, the Blackhawks are entering training camp largely healthy.
Defenseman Artyom Levshunov, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, is dealing with a right foot injury, which will delay his full participation in camp. Newly signed goaltender Laurent Brossoit, who joined as a free agent this offseason, is recovering from meniscus surgery on his right knee. Additionally, prospects Marcel Marcel, Alex Pharand, and Marek Vanacker have also been listed with injuries as camp begins.
The Blackhawks will kick off preparations for the 2024-25 season with their first practice on Thursday. Over the next two-plus weeks, the team will balance training sessions with six preseason games, leading up to their season opener in Utah on October 8.
