Latest News: Duke Basketball Lands Commit from Another Top Talented 5-Star Over Kentucky And LSU to Bolster Jon Scheyer’s Rotation…

Duke Basketball may be falling behind in the race for top-tier talent, as five-star forward Jalen Haralson seems to be slipping out of their grasp.

The Blue Devils, led by head coach Jon Scheyer, have been pursuing Jalen Haralson, a 6-foot-6, 210-pound senior from La Lumiere School (Ind.), for some time. Despite offering him a scholarship in June 2023 and maintaining steady communication, it appears Duke will not be hosting Haralson for an official visit this fall.

Haralson, who ranks No. 9 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, has locked in six official visits for the fall semester: Indiana, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Missouri, Purdue, and Kansas. Notably, Duke is absent from this list, which could indicate that the Blue Devils are no longer a frontrunner in his recruitment.

Although Haralson included Duke among his top nine schools back in March—alongside Indiana, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Missouri, Purdue, Kansas, Auburn, and Gonzaga—the lack of a scheduled visit to Durham suggests the Blue Devils may be losing ground.

In early July, Haralson spoke positively about Duke’s interest, saying, “They’re really interested…the whole staff is recruiting me. So, I feel like they are one of the most involved schools in my top nine…I’m one of the first players in the 2025 class [Jon Scheyer] offered. So, that’s special.”

However, as the recruitment process enters its final stages, the absence of a visit to Duke raises doubts about their chances of landing the highly sought-after forward. As Haralson’s recruitment winds down, it seems increasingly likely that the Blue Devils may miss out on this elite prospect.
