Breaking: San Francisco 49ers Officially Release Another Top Experienced Fans Favorite Star QB Due To…

The Los Angeles Rams have bolstered their running back corps by claiming Cody Schrader off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers. After finalizing their roster with three running backs, the Rams made a strategic move to add Schrader, an undrafted free agent who impressed during training camp with the 49ers. This acquisition could make Schrader the fourth running back on the team, or he might even replace Ronnie Rivers in the depth chart.

Schrader’s journey to the NFL is remarkable. He spent four years at Truman State University, where he dominated on the ground, rushing for 2,074 yards and scoring 25 touchdowns in his senior year in 2021. His performance earned him a transfer to the University of Missouri, where he continued to excel. In 2022, he rushed for 745 yards, followed by a record-breaking 2023 season with 1,627 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Schrader also contributed 191 receiving yards for the Tigers.

Despite his achievements, Schrader’s speed—clocking in at 4.61 seconds in the 40-yard dash—wasn’t his standout trait. However, his versatility and determination have given him an opportunity to carve out a long-term role with the Rams, either on special teams or as a backup to Kyren Williams and Blake Corum.

To make room for Schrader on the roster, the Rams will need to release a player. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots also made a move, claiming tackle Zachary Thomas off waivers from the Rams.
