The Denver Broncos have made the difficult decision to release veteran defensive lineman Angelo Blackson as they work to trim their roster down to 53 players before the NFL’s deadline.
According to NFL Wire, the Broncos’ decision to part ways with Blackson likely paves the way for a younger defensive lineman to secure a spot on the team.
Blackson, a former fourth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, has enjoyed a solid 10-year career. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 318 pounds, Blackson appeared to be the type of veteran presence the Broncos needed when they signed him to a one-year deal in April.
