Jakyi Miles, a highly touted freshman from Mesa High School (Ariz.), is already making waves in the basketball world, even though he still has a few years before serious recruitment by top-tier college programs begins. The 6-foot-3 point guard, who showcased his talents with the Oakland Soldiers in Nike EYBL E15 action this summer, has his sights set on Duke basketball as a dream destination.
“Without a doubt, I want to hear from Duke University,” Miles shared with Pro Insight after an impressive showing at the 12th annual CP3 Rising Stars National Camp in Winston-Salem, N.C., over the weekend. Miles is currently ranked No. 10 overall and the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2028 by Prep Hoops. “I also like North Carolina and Arkansas. I’m really drawn to the blue-blood programs… But in the end, I just want to go where I’m wanted and where I can contribute.”

Miles, who admires former Duke star and current NBA standout Kyrie Irving, looks to Irving’s game as a blueprint for his own development.
“I love watching Kyrie Irving,” Miles said. “I admire his shiftiness and quickness. I like to think I have a little of that quickness in my game too.”
