Weston Wilson
Weston Wilson’s inclusion on this list might come as a surprise to some. He’s shown promise with his ability to hit for power, his speed on the bases, and his versatility in both the infield and outfield. So what’s not to like?
Wilson has performed well in his limited major league appearances, boasting a solid .286 batting average and an .858 OPS. In just 49 at-bats over 23 games, he’s scored nine runs, hit three home runs, driven in eight RBIs, and stolen four bases—impressive numbers considering his limited playing time.
However, that limited action is precisely the issue. As Wilson enters the 2025 season, he’ll be 30 years old, having spent a decade trying to solidify his major league career. Despite his success in both the minors and majors, he might be getting too good to remain in a reserve role.
