Sad News: Charles Lee Faced with Major Setback as Hornets Announced the Departure of the $183 Million Superstar…

Former NBA guard Jeremy Lamb has announced his retirement from basketball. Lamb shared the news on Wednesday through an Instagram post. Over his ten-year career, Lamb played 573 games with stints on teams including the Oklahoma City Thunder, Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers, and Sacramento Kings.

“Basketball has been good to me throughout my entire life, so this decision didn’t come easy,” Lamb said in his Instagram post. “I know I wouldn’t be where I’m at without the love and support from my family and friends, so I want to take a moment to express my appreciation. I’m thankful for the many ways you’ve been there throughout my career.”

Drafted 12th overall in 2012 by the Houston Rockets, Lamb was immediately traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the deal that brought James Harden to the Rockets. He became a key bench player for the Thunder in his second season, contributing to their playoff run. After three years in Oklahoma City, Lamb was traded to the Charlotte Hornets, where he achieved his best statistical seasons from 2015-19.

Lamb was instrumental in helping the Hornets achieve a 48-34 record in the 2015-16 season, their best in a decade, while appearing in 66 games off the bench. During the 2018-19 season, he recorded career highs with 15.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.

Lamb continued to play a significant role for the 2019-20 Pacers before concluding his NBA career with the Kings. Over his career, he averaged 10.1 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in his 573 appearances, including 136 starts.

“I also want to acknowledge my teammates, who have made this experience unforgettable,” Lamb wrote. “To my coaches, thank you for your guidance and belief in me. Your impact on my life goes beyond the court. Now it’s time to catch another dream!”
