Aaron Judge has shared his reaction to the New York Yankees’ recent moves before the 2024 MLB trade deadline. The team made significant acquisitions, including Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Mark Leiter Jr. However, they reportedly decided against trading for Jack Flaherty. Judge has some thoughts on the Yankees’ performance during this period.
“It’s great. We got some good guys already making contributions so far,” Judge said on Tuesday, via Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. “We saw what Jazz (Chisholm) did tonight, and then Mark (Leiter Jr.) — I don’t even think he had time to take off his airplane shoes, man. It’s impressive. We got some good guys.”
Chisholm has had a remarkable start with the Yankees. The former Miami Marlins star shared his excitement about playing for New York.
“This is what I live for. I love the lights. I love the big crowds,” Chisholm said on Tuesday. “I love everything like that. So it’s super exciting. I’m enjoying it.”
Yankees’ New-Look Roster
The Yankees needed offensive reinforcements. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto have been the only consistent hitters for the team in 2024. Although Chisholm was not performing at his best in Miami, he has the potential to become a star.
Chisholm has hit four home runs in his first three games with the Yankees, a feat never before accomplished in franchise history. While it’s uncertain if he can maintain this elite performance for the rest of the season, his addition is undoubtedly an upgrade.
The acquisition of Mark Leiter Jr. bolsters the Yankees’ bullpen depth. New York has consistently worked to develop a strong bullpen and is always ready to make quick changes when necessary.
