Sad News: Kenny Brooks Face Major Setback as Kentucky Wildcats Loss Two Key Players…

No timetable for their return has been provided.

The Kentucky Wildcats and new head coach Kenny Brooks have had a tumultuous offseason. Brooks has worked hard to rebuild the roster into one that could potentially make a significant impact in the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

However, two players expected to be pivotal in Kentucky’s resurgence are now sidelined.

On Monday, the school announced that graduate guard Jordan Obi and sophomore guard Dominika Paurova have both suffered lower leg injuries and are out indefinitely. No further details were released.

Paurova sustained what appeared to be a knee injury on July 14th while playing in a FIBA U-20 game for the Czech Republic. The timing of Obi’s injury remains unclear.

Obi, a native of Hartford, Connecticut, spent the last four seasons at Penn. Over 83 career games, she averaged 13.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 0.9 steals per game.

Paurova, from the Czech Republic, signed with Oregon State as part of the 2023 recruiting class. In 35 games last season, she averaged 5.5 points on 48% shooting from the field (37.2% from three-point range), 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 16.5 minutes per game.

Here’s to hoping for a speedy recovery for both players!
