BBC Sport pundit Clinton Morrison has raved about Nottingham Forest star Harry Toffolo after the Reds beat Aston Villa. Steve Cooper’s men beat Unai Emery’s team 2-0 at the City Ground.
Intriguingly, Toffolo came up against Matty Cash who came through the youth academy at Forest. The Reds player was forced to keep the Poland international quiet and did a useful job.
Morrison was impressed with Toffolo. The left-back came back into the team with Nuno Tavares still not quite fit enough to play and Cooper fancying the player signed from Huddersfield instead.
Morrison raves about Toffolo after Forest win
This was a quality performance from a very underrated player in the squad. Toffolo has rarely let Forest down and he was once again in fine form for the Reds this afternoon.
Morrison was very impressed with the player and raved about him live on BBC Radio 5 Live, saying: “Harry Toffolo is getting the better of Matty Cash. Toffolo has come in and he’s done a good job so far. Cash has had a good season though. It’ll be a good battle down that side.”
Toffolo did come out on top of the player who used to play for Forest. He registered two assists during the contest and really showcased his class for the Reds.
Toffolo deserves immense credit
It proved a summer of uncertainty for Forest star Toffolo with a betting charge hanging over him. Since returning, however, he’s been immense and for that, he deserves praise.
The left-back always gives every ounce of his being and nobody can ever bemoan him shirking his responsibilities. Fatigue meant he couldn’t finish this contest but he was outstanding throughout his time on the pitch and deserved his ovation.
Toffolo might not be considered the first choice once every player in the full-back areas is fit and firing. However, he’s showcasing that when he does get called upon he won’t let anyone down.
