In a notable turn of events at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game, the American League secured a victory, but Minnesota Twins players Carlos Correa and Willi Castro had minimal contributions.
Carlos Correa did not get a chance to bat during Tuesday night’s game, while Willi Castro had a single at-bat in the bottom of the eighth inning, resulting in a ground-out against National League pitcher Jeff Hoffman.
Defensively, neither Correa nor Castro made a significant impact. Correa’s most notable moment occurred during the pregame player introductions when the crowd booed him due to his association with the Houston Astros cheating scandal.
The American League triumphed over the National League with a 5-3 score in Arlington. Boston Red Sox centerfielder Jarren Duran was named MVP of the game, thanks to his two-run homer that secured the winning margin for the AL.
Since 2000, the American League has maintained a dominant record of 19-4-1 against the National League in the All-Star Game.
The Twins will resume their season after the All-Star break with a game at home against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday night. They enter the second half of the season trailing 4.5 games in the AL Central.
