Can the Miami Heat find a way to get Lauri Markkanen?
At the 34:10 mark of his podcast, Zach Lowe mentions that he knows the Heat are interested in Markkanen but he’s unsure if they have the assets to acquire him. Additionally, he points out that it’s uncertain whether the Utah Jazz are willing to trade him.
This is a reminder that several teams are interested in the Jazz forward, but acquiring him will come at a steep price. Danny Ainge, the Jazz’s executive, is known for making moves that he believes will help the Jazz become championship contenders. For the Jazz to part with Markkanen, Ainge clearly expects a substantial offer.
A quick glance at the Miami Heat’s draft picks reveals that many are tied up with other teams and cannot be moved. This situation suggests that while the Heat may show interest in multiple players, including Markkanen, securing such a deal may prove challenging due to their limited trade assets.
