In the latest updates for Auburn Tigers fans, the football and baseball teams have made significant strides in their respective rosters.
Eric Winters Commits to Auburn Football
The Auburn football program had a major recruiting weekend with over ten official visitors on campus. Among them was 4-star safety Eric Winters from Enterprise, Alabama. Winters, ranked as the #7 safety in the 2025 recruiting class and the #5 prospect in the state, decided to commit to Auburn following his visit. He chose Auburn over other top schools, including Georgia and Miami, citing the family atmosphere and the impressive resume of Auburn’s defensive coach, Charles Kelly, as decisive factors.
Winters’ commitment boosts Auburn’s recruiting class, which now includes four of the top ten players from Alabama and ranks #6 nationally.
Auburn Baseball Adds Two Transfers
The Auburn baseball team was also active this weekend, strengthening its roster through the transfer portal. The team welcomed two new players, brothers Sam and Andrew Dutton from Southside, Alabama, who attended Westbrook Christian High School.
- Sam Dutton: A pitcher who transferred from LSU, where he started 15 games and made 57 appearances over three years. Last season, he recorded 29 strikeouts and only six walks in 27.2 innings. Sam is the highest-profile addition among the five players joining Auburn from the transfer portal this offseason.
- Andrew Dutton: An infielder transferring from Birmingham-Southern for his fifth year. He started 49 games, hitting seven home runs and 42 RBIs, and led the Panthers with a .340 batting average.
These additions are expected to have a significant impact on Auburn’s baseball team as they prepare for the upcoming season.
