BREAKING: 49ers Confirmed In Talks to Complete A Blockbuster Trade for the $39 million Star…

Albert Breer Predicts a $29 Million Deal for Brandon Aiyuk with the 49ers

It’s the weekend, and speculation around Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers is heating up again. This week, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer weighed in on the ongoing negotiations, addressing recent reports that Aiyuk was offered $26 million per year.

In his recent mailbag, Breer was asked about the likelihood of the deal being finalized and responded:

“I think so. My buddy Mike Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle has the San Francisco 49ers’ offer at a new-money average of $26 million per year. My sense is that’s getting in the neighborhood of where they’ll have to lock up Brandon Aiyuk, whom they really do value and love. I think the final number, if I had to guess, will wind up being $29 million per year, which would put Aiyuk past the Miami Dolphins’ Jaylen Waddle and Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown, and still behind the Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson by quite a bit, which would be understandable.”

This speculation aligns with the general consensus. As previously discussed, if there’s any aspect of the deal that can be debated, it will be. Meanwhile, other deals are getting done, providing Aiyuk with more benchmarks.

49ers: Inside the Brock Purdy-Brandon Aiyuk relationship

A $29 million annual salary seems like a reasonable conclusion. This figure would place Aiyuk just under $30 million, above Waddle and St. Brown, as Breer suggests. However, the crucial factor will be the guarantees in his contract. With the 49ers, it’s often less about the total number and more about the guaranteed money.

The expectation is that the 49ers will finalize the deal, ensuring the continuation of the Brock Purdy/Brandon Aiyuk connection. This focus on Aiyuk leaves other key players like Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, Trent Williams, and Brock Purdy to be addressed in the near future.
