Auburn football is on the verge of securing a commitment from highly sought-after 4-star cornerback Blake Woodby.
Initially committed to Ohio State in October 2023, Woodby, a standout cornerback, retracted his commitment on May 16, 2024. Auburn wasted no time and extended an offer to him the same day.
During his commitment to Ohio State, Woodby kept his options open, maintaining contact with programs like Auburn, Michigan, and Florida. Following his decommitment, Woodby scheduled an official visit to Auburn, highlighting the Tigers’ high interest in him. He is set to visit Auburn this weekend.
On3 Sports’ Vice President of Recruiting, Steve Wiltfong, has already predicted that Woodby will choose Auburn. “I’ve talked to sources around Auburn today, and there is a lot of optimism going into the visit this weekend,” Wiltfong said, according to On3 Sports. Additionally, two national recruiting analysts for 247 Sports have logged Crystal Ball predictions favoring Woodby’s commitment to Auburn.
Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Woodby is the #2 prospect from his state and the #8 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class. Nationally, he is ranked as the #74 recruit.
According to Auburn Wire, this weekend is pivotal for head coach Hugh Freeze and the Auburn football program, as they host multiple recruits for official visits. Joining Woodby on the Plains will be 5-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, 4-star offensive lineman Broderick Shull, 4-star linebacker Elijah Menendez (a Miami commit), 4-star defensive lineman Kalen Edwards, and 4-star tight end Emaree Winston (a Texas commit).
