In a significant development for college football, 2025 three-star linebacker Anthony Williams has committed to TCU, leaving the Texas Longhorns. Williams, a standout from Pearland Shadow Creek, had initially pledged to the Longhorns but decided to flip to the Horned Frogs after reopening his recruitment last month.
TCU Football continues to bolster its defensive lineup for the 2025 recruiting class with the addition of Williams, who ranks as a top-100 prospect in Texas according to the 247Sports Composite ranking, and is positioned as the No. 56 linebacker in his class.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 190 pounds, Williams becomes the 11th member of TCU’s 2025 class, which includes six linebackers or defensive linemen. This class is currently ranked 20th nationally and second in the Big 12. Williams had a highly competitive recruitment, choosing TCU over 21 other offers from prominent programs such as Auburn, Oregon, Nebraska, and Notre Dame.
In his two varsity seasons with the Shadow Creek Sharks, Williams has recorded 56 tackles (12 for loss), one sack, one interception, and one fumble recovery. His impressive performance earned him the title of District Defensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore.
