Brycen Hopkins
Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 245 pounds, Brycen Hopkins isn’t known for his blocking but is a decent athlete with a skill set reminiscent of Harrison Bryant. During his four years with the Los Angeles Rams, Hopkins accumulated 196 yards on 13 receptions, boasting an impressive average of 15.1 yards per catch.
Tyler Kroft
Tyler Kroft, a versatile tight end, has spent nine seasons in the NFL and played for multiple teams. After starting his career with four years in Cincinnati, Kroft moved between four other teams, most recently with Miami, where he had no receiving stats last year but contributed primarily as a blocker. His blocking skills would be valuable for Cleveland.
Geoff Swaim
Geoff Swaim, drafted in the seventh round by the Dallas Cowboys in 2015, has consistently been an underrated player. At 6-foot-4 and 260 pounds, Swaim has recorded 110 receptions for 846 yards and six touchdowns over eight seasons. Known for his blocking ability, Swaim spent 2023 with the Arizona Cardinals, where he played in 14 games with eight starts, catching 10 passes on 11 targets.
Logan Thomas
Logan Thomas, a converted quarterback, began his career with the Arizona Cardinals in 2014. After switching to tight end with the Buffalo Bills, Thomas found his footing in 2017 and excelled with the Washington Commanders starting in 2020. Over four seasons, he amassed 184 receptions for 1,685 yards and 14 touchdowns. Though not an elite blocker, Thomas is competent and coming off a season with 496 yards and four touchdowns. At 33 years old, his age may be a factor in why he remains unsigned, but he is arguably the best tight end available and would be a solid addition to the Browns.
The Browns’ pursuit of one of these tight ends could provide the necessary depth to support their offense as they head into the new season.
