Encouraging signs emerged for Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz as they practiced at Roland-Garros, despite recent injury concerns.
Both Sinner and Alcaraz have been managing injuries ahead of the French Open. Sinner’s participation was particularly doubtful, with reports last week from Gazzetta suggesting the 22-year-old Italian might withdraw. However, his practice session on Wednesday indicates he may still compete in Paris.

While a practice session doesn’t guarantee Sinner’s participation, the reigning Australian Open champion’s training with Kei Nishikori is a positive sign as he recovers from a hip injury. Sinner had previously withdrawn from the Mutua Madrid Open before the quarter-finals and missed his home Masters 1000 tournament in Rome.

Carlos Alcaraz, who also withdrew from Rome due to a right-arm issue, practiced with France’s Luca Van Assche. Alcaraz had reached the Madrid quarter-finals but was defeated by Andrey Rublev.

Alcaraz, aiming for his third Grand Slam title and first at the French Open, appears ready to compete. The world No. 3 had lost to Novak Djokovic in last year’s semi-finals at Roland-Garros.
Sinner and Alcaraz’s practices are hopeful signs for their fans, suggesting they may both be fit to compete in the upcoming Grand Slam.
