Novak Djokovic, celebrating his 37th birthday, expressed his joy after winning his second-round match against Yannick Hanfmann at the Geneva Open. “The birthday wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t win,” he remarked, highlighting the significance of the victory on his special day.

“This win really touched me. I’m very happy to have won on this special day,” Djokovic shared [via ATPTour.com]. “The key was the birthday. It probably wouldn’t feel the same if I hadn’t won the match, but it’s great to be here at this tournament for the first time, especially with my family here to support me.”

Djokovic also mentioned how special it was to be playing at the Geneva Open for the first time, with his family present to cheer him on. He noted that he doesn’t get to see them often, making this event even more meaningful.
