QPR Manager Marti Cifuentes Plans Changes Ahead of Swansea Clash
Following QPR’s thrilling victory over Birmingham on Friday, Manager Marti Cifuentes is gearing up for major adjustments ahead of their Easter Monday fixture against Swansea. This match marks the beginning of a crucial run for QPR, with subsequent encounters against fellow strugglers Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth looming large.
Cifuentes emphasized the importance of managing his squad effectively, hinting at the likelihood of rotation in the upcoming matches. Recognizing the significance of the three consecutive games, he stressed the need for fresh legs and different tactical approaches.
“We will probably need to rotate,” Cifuentes acknowledged. “It’s not just the Swansea game – we’re aware that we have Sheffield Wednesday and also Plymouth. It’s three games in a row that are very, very important for us.”
With player fitness and form in mind, Cifuentes hinted at potential changes to the starting lineup. Jack Colback is poised for a return, while Issac Hayden’s availability remains uncertain due to a shoulder injury sustained during the Birmingham game.
Regarding Hayden’s condition, Cifuentes expressed optimism despite the midfielder’s recent setbacks. He praised Hayden’s resilience in playing through discomfort and injury, highlighting his determination to contribute to the team’s success.
“He showed big character to play that game with probably a lot of pain,” Cifuentes remarked. “Hopefully, he’s going to be good, and the medical team told me that he should be ready.”
As QPR prepares for a crucial period in their Championship campaign, Cifuentes’ strategic decisions and the team’s collective effort will be pivotal in their quest for valuable points and securing their place in the league.
