Amidst trade discussions, Zac Taylor remains optimistic about Tee Higgins’ upcoming season with the Cincinnati Bengals.
As the offseason commenced, Higgins’ camp expressed a desire for a trade from the Bengals. Despite this, the team designated Higgins with the franchise tag for the 2024 season, guaranteeing him $21.7 million. However, Higgins’ agent, David Mulugheta, is actively pursuing a long-term deal for his client.
This isn’t the first time the Bengals have faced trade requests from key offensive players during the offseason, with Jonah Williams being another case after last year’s signing of Orlando Brown Jr.
Despite the ongoing trade talks, Zac Taylor shared his confidence in Higgins during the AFC coach’s breakfast in Orlando. “We’re excited for Tee to have a great year for us. We think he’s our best chance to help us win a Super Bowl. I’ve enjoyed working with Tee the last four years and expect this year to be no different,” Taylor expressed, as reported by Jay Morrison of Pro Football Network.
Higgins has been a vital component of the Bengals’ success since he was drafted in 2020, forming a strong connection with quarterback Joe Burrow.
Although the Bengals are considering trade offers for Higgins, there’s no indication that Duke Tobin and the front office will take any immediate action. For now, Taylor eagerly anticipates Higgins’ presence in Cincinnati for the upcoming 2024 season.
