Philadelphia Flyers lose another experienced superstar… 

Nashville Predators General Manager Barry Trotz has announced that the team has completed a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers, acquiring forward Wade Allison in exchange for forward Denis Gurianov.

Allison, aged 26 (born on October 14, 1997), has amassed 10 goals and 17 points in 46 games with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms during the 2023–24 season. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 205 pounds, Allison made his NHL debut on April 15, 2021, against Pittsburgh, and has since played 75 NHL games, all with Philadelphia. His tenure with the Flyers includes the entire 2022–23 season, during which he recorded 15 points (9 goals and 6 assists) in 60 games.

Originally selected by Philadelphia in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft, Allison has showcased his skills in the AHL, tallying 43 points (24 goals and 19 assists) in 84 games with Lehigh Valley. This includes a strong showing of 17 points (10 goals and 7 assists) in 28 games during the 2021–22 season. Prior to his professional career, Allison spent four years at Western Michigan University from 2016 to 2020, where he served as an alternate captain during his final two seasons.

He accumulated 97 points (45 goals and 52 assists) in 106 games for the Broncos and received an honorable mention for the NCHC’s All-Star Team in the 2017-18 season. Additionally, the Carman, Manitoba native claimed the USHL’s Clark Cup and was named the postseason MVP with Tri-City in 2015-16.
