Unfortunate news for Vikings fans as the team bids farewell to another talented player. The Minnesota Vikings have officially parted ways with running back Alexander Mattison.
Speculation about Mattison’s departure circulated last week, and now it has been confirmed by the team. Mattison, who stepped in as the starting running back in 2023 after Dalvin Cook’s absence, struggled to maintain his role and was eventually supplanted by Ty Chandler towards the end of the season.
Despite his efforts, Mattison’s performance fell short, accumulating only 700 rushing yards and three receiving touchdowns.
