Auburn University is making history with the announcement of a groundbreaking project set to transform the future of Tigers basketball. The school has officially begun construction on a brand-new Neville Arena, featuring an unprecedented seating capacity of over 100,000—making it the largest basketball venue in the nation.
For years, Auburn basketball has been on a steady rise under head coach Bruce Pearl, and this bold move underscores the program’s commitment to sustained excellence. The new state-of-the-art arena aims to enhance the game-day experience, bringing an unmatched atmosphere to Auburn while cementing the Tigers as a powerhouse both on and off the court.
Auburn athletic director John Cohen expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “This is a game-changer for Auburn basketball. We’re not just building an arena—we’re creating an environment that will be the most electrifying in college basketball.”
The new Neville Arena will feature cutting-edge technology, enhanced fan engagement zones, premium seating options, and a modernized infrastructure to accommodate the ever-growing Auburn fanbase. While the original Neville Arena provided an intimate and high-energy setting, this expansion will elevate Auburn’s home-court advantage to an entirely new level.
Construction is expected to take several years, with a projected completion date set for later this decade. As Auburn continues its ascent in college basketball, this historic project ensures that the Tigers will have one of the most iconic venues in the sport.
