The Chicago Blackhawks have made another significant roster move, officially finalizing a deal to acquire 23-year-old forward. The talented winger will now call United Center his new home, joining a young and promising Blackhawks squad eager to take the next step in their rebuild.
Robertson, a former Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, brings speed, skill, and a lethal shot to Chicago’s forward group. He has long been regarded as one of the most promising offensive talents from the 2019 NHL Draft, despite battling injuries early in his career.
During the 2023-24 season, Robertson put together his best NHL campaign, tallying 14 goals and 19 assists (33 points) in 67 games. His quick release and high hockey IQ make him a dangerous weapon on the power play and a strong fit alongside young stars like Connor Bedard and Frank Nazar.
With the Blackhawks continuing to build for the future, adding Robertson gives them another young forward who can grow with the core of Bedard, Kevin Korchinski, and Lukas Reichel. His offensive versatility and ability to play in the top six will provide Chicago with additional scoring depth.
“We believe Nicholas has the skill and potential to be a big part of what we’re building here in Chicago,” said Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson. “He has the ability to contribute offensively while continuing to develop into a well-rounded NHL player.”
With training camp and preseason approaching, Robertson will have an opportunity to carve out a significant role in the Blackhawks’ lineup. Whether he finds himself on a line with Bedard or as a scoring option on the second unit, his offensive upside and playmaking ability will make him a player to watch in Chicago’s rebuild.
The Blackhawks continue to make bold moves, and with Nicholas Robertson now in the mix, the future in Chicago is looking brighter than ever!
