As the MLB Winter Meetings near their conclusion, the Philadelphia Phillies remain measured in their approach, avoiding any major trades or signings.
Despite early links to White Sox All-Star Garrett Crochet, Phillies President Dave Dombrowski confirmed the team’s reluctance to part with top prospects like Andrew Painter and Aidan Miller.
“We’ve invested in our farm system and believe in our young talent,” Dombrowski explained. Painter, recovering from Tommy John surgery, is expected to join the rotation in 2025, while Miller and standout Justin Crawford are also viewed as future cornerstones.
While acknowledging fan frustration following two postseason disappointments, Dombrowski emphasized timing: “We’ll make the right move when it benefits both the present and future.”
