The New York Yankees are moving swiftly to address the void left by Juan Soto, who signed with the Mets, by turning their attention to free-agent outfielder Anthony Santander. After missing out on Soto, the Yankees considered Cody Bellinger and Teoscar Hernández, but financial concerns have made Santander a more attractive option.
Santander, a former Baltimore Oriole, hit a career-high in home runs and RBIs last season despite a drop in batting average. His switch-hitting power would play exceptionally well at Yankee Stadium, potentially boosting his home run total and contributing strong offensive production.
Santander is reportedly intrigued by joining the Yankees, and with his affordable price tag compared to other stars, he could become the ideal replacement in New York’s revamped outfield for 2025.
