The Carolina Panthers announced a series of practice squad changes on Tuesday, addressing recent injuries and reshaping their roster for added depth.
Tight end Stephen Sullivan and running back Dillon Johnson were placed on the practice squad/injured list, sidelining them for the foreseeable future. Additionally, the team parted ways with safety Alex Cook and wide receiver Sam Pinckney, releasing them from the practice squad.
To fill the vacancies, the Panthers signed running back Emani Bailey, wide receiver T.J. Luther, and tight end Dominique Dafney. They also re-signed outside linebacker Thomas Incoom, who has been a familiar presence for much of the season.
New Additions
- Dominique Dafney, a Charlotte native, brings local ties and NFL experience. The former Iowa and Indiana State standout has played for the Colts, Packers, Broncos, and Buccaneers. Dafney has appeared in 15 NFL games, recording four catches for 60 yards and a touchdown.
- Emani Bailey, an undrafted rookie from TCU, joins after spending time on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad earlier this season.
- T.J. Luther, a Wofford and Gardner-Webb product, has built experience with multiple teams, including the Jets, Patriots, Steelers, and Packers.
Familiar Face Returns
- Thomas Incoom, who has already appeared in seven games for the Panthers this season, mostly on special teams, returns to the practice squad. His versatility and familiarity with the team make him a valuable asset as the Panthers navigate their injury concerns.
The roster adjustments aim to provide the Panthers with much-needed reinforcements as they look to stay competitive despite the challenges posed by recent injuries.
