In a surprising move, the Philadelphia Phillies have announced they are parting ways with pitching coach. The decision, reportedly stemming from philosophical differences between Cotham and the front office, marks the end of a pivotal chapter for the team’s pitching development.
Cotham, a highly regarded figure in the Phillies’ coaching staff, played a significant role in the resurgence of the team’s pitching staff over the past few seasons. Cotham joined the Phillies in 2021 after serving as the assistant pitching coach for the Cincinnati Reds.
