Official Orioles News: Baltimore Orioles Officially Confirm the Addition of the $17.5 Million Well Experienced Top Star…

The Baltimore Orioles have confirmed significant roster moves, notably picking up the 2025 options for three valuable players. Leading the announcements is the return of Ryan O’Hearn, who will earn $7.5 million next season.

O’Hearn had a standout season in 2024, playing a career-high 142 games with the Orioles and delivering solid performance against right-handed pitching, hitting .264 with 15 home runs and a 122 OPS+. Known for his platoon role, O’Hearn amassed a .777 OPS against righties and will continue to bring his reliable bat to Baltimore’s lineup.

Alongside O’Hearn, the Orioles also exercised club options for relievers Seranthony Dominguez ($8 million) and Cionel Perez ($2.2 million). Dominguez, a hard-throwing right-hander, adds depth to the bullpen, while Perez has been a valuable left-handed option.

Together, these additions increase Baltimore’s 2025 payroll by $17.5 million, giving the team the flexibility to stay competitive while keeping payroll modestly within the league’s lower half.

In contrast, the Orioles declined their $4 million option on veteran lefty Danny Coulombe. Coulombe was effective in 33 appearances this season, boasting a 2.83 FIP and 0.951 WHIP, and could still return on a re-negotiated deal.
