The Buffalo Bills have suffered another tough setback as head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that running back will be sidelined for three months due to a serious knee injury. Cook, a key figure in Buffalo’s offense, sustained the injury during last week’s game, dealing a significant blow to the team’s playoff hopes.
Cook’s absence creates a noticeable gap in the Bills’ backfield. Known for his versatility, quickness, and ability to both run the ball and catch passes out of the backfield, Cook has been a critical piece of Buffalo’s offensive strategy this season. He provided stability and depth to the rushing attack, allowing quarterback Josh Allen to diversify the offense and keep defenses guessing. This injury leaves the team with limited options at running back, forcing McDermott and his coaching staff to make adjustments moving forward.
In response to the setback, McDermott expressed disappointment, emphasizing Cook’s importance to the team. “James has been a tremendous asset on and off the field,” McDermott said. “We’ll support him through his recovery and hope to have him back at full strength.”
With Cook out, the Bills are expected to lean on their remaining backfield options, potentially looking to make a midseason acquisition to reinforce their ground game. As Buffalo strives to maintain their playoff positioning, Cook’s injury marks a challenging moment for the team.
