BREAKING: More Bad News for Jerod Mayo as Patriots make Crucial Roster Moves Ahead of…

The New England Patriots made several significant roster adjustments on Tuesday, including acquiring a center from the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad.

The Patriots signed 26-year-old Star Player to their active 53-man roster. Smith, who had been with Green Bay since the spring, started the 2024 season on the practice squad. Originally a sixth-round pick in 2022, Smith made two starts during his rookie season with the Arizona Cardinals.

This move comes just one day after the Patriots made a surprising decision to release veteran Nick Leverett, who was expected to fill in for David Andrews. Andrews is sidelined for the season due to a torn rotator cuff.

In addition to adding Smith, New England signed cornerback Miles Battle to their practice squad, while releasing center Sincere Haynesworth just a week after he joined the team.

The Patriots’ offensive line and defense have faced challenges this season. However, Ben Brown, who started in place of Leverett in Week 6, impressed during rookie quarterback Drake Maye’s NFL debut. Despite a tough 20-point loss to the Houston Texans, Brown’s performance was solid—he didn’t allow a sack, a hit, or commit any penalties.
