Sad News: Just In Pittsburgh Steelers Officially Cut-Ties with the 26-year-old Edge Rusher…

The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially parted ways with 26-year-old edge rusher, releasing him from their practice squad. This decision follows the team’s recent signing of fellow edge rusher Eku Leota to the practice squad, along with Ade Ogundeji, who also remains as a backup outside linebacker.

Haynes was initially brought on by the Steelers late in training camp after a wave of injuries impacted their linebacker corps. He rejoined the team when key players like Jeremiah Moon and Alex Highsmith faced injuries. While Highsmith is still recovering, Moon’s return to form has made Haynes expendable in Pittsburgh’s lineup.

An undrafted free agent out of Old Dominion in the 2023 NFL Draft, Haynes has had a brief yet eventful journey through the NFL. He initially signed with the Denver Broncos and spent most of 2023 on their practice squad.

Since then, he has had short stints with the Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns, and the Steelers. If Haynes is unable to secure another opportunity in the NFL, he is already signed with the San Antonio Brahmas of the UFL, where he may continue his professional football career.

Haynes’ release marks another turn in his young career as he looks to find stability in the highly competitive world of professional football.
